Sue has been the director since 2004. She was one of the first volunteers in the program since 1999.
In 2011, she headed up the suitcase project for all of Floyd County Foster Children to receive a new suitcase. In 2017, her book “Violet Daisy Flowers becomes a Foster Kid” was published. The story of Violet will take you through the child welfare system and touch on some of the heartache, loneliness, and challenges children in the foster care system will face. |
Our newest staff member is Gina Montgomery. Gina is a former foster-adopted child, and was previously a Floyd County CASA volunteer. She attended Shorter College, Covenant College and received her MBA from Bryan College in Dayton Tennessee.
Previously, Gina spent 8 years at DFCS, working in several units including Ongoing Foster Care, Adoptions and the Independent Living Program. She was also a house parent at Open Door Home. Most recently, she was a Case Manager and Resource Director for TREK Foster Homes in Cartersville. She is also a Certified Georgia SAFE Home Study Practitioner and a Certified IMPACT Pre-service Trainer. She is the mother of 3 adult children, and currently has a household menagerie consisting of several cats and dogs including a rescued Great Dane and Palmer the Yorkie. She enjoys fishing (fresh and salt water), kayaking, cruising and going “anywhere there is sun and sand”. |
Lynne has been with the CASA Program since 2016. She attended Georgia Highlands College, Shorter College and Covenant College where she received her B.A. in Organizational Management. Lynne was the former Director of Community Information Line of Coosa Valley (Community InfoLine) for 8 years before working at Floyd County Department of Family and Children Services, as a special county projects Case Manager. Lynne enjoys working with volunteers and enjoys speaking to local groups and organizations about CASA
